MentionMD (planning)

The BB Code standard is very old and very difficult to write for the end user. There are also many problems on the editor side.

I wrote a powerful parser system on the PHP side, but no matter what I do on the frontend side, it is not stable. I use a heavily modified TinyMCE.

Maybe I can switch to Markdown completely. The editor will change completely, all the features will be moved to Markdown and it will be a newer generation, much easier to write, more universal standard. Of course, I will need to write additional features such as adding videos and emojis etc.

On the PHP side, I will most likely use League's third-party parser: https://github.com/thephpleague/commonmark

This is a project that will go through a lot of planning and testing. I think it will take MentionBB to a new generation path.
